personal trainer talking at a nutrition seminarAre you looking to lose weight, build muscle or feel fantastic and suspect the question you need to ask is “What should I eat?”. Recharged Personal Training is running a second nutrition seminar with lead trainer Bryce after the demand following his first one. His seminar will:

  • Explain the relationship between calories and macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, protein)

  • Outline how to manipulate your macronutrients to lose weight or build muscle

  • Highlight how alcohol is metabolised and how to account for it when meal planning

  • Explain the top three barriers to managing or maintaining a healthy body composition (often mislabeled as ‘weight’)

  • Answer your specific question and help you establish a personal strategy to eat what you need AND what you want.

Nutrition + exercise + sleep: the boring trio of health!

If eating well, exercising and getting enough sleep were easy then we’d be out of a job! Rather than hear the same information you already know, Bryce will use his years of experience to highlight where you might self-sabotage and how he’s worked with clients to educate (or trick) themselves into better habits. Examples include:

  • Do you love ice cream/ beer/ Netflix? Link your favourite thing with a less enjoyable task and create a lifelong habit. Make it the reward after a 30 minute walk.

  • Need to drink more water? Set a timer every two hours, grab a glass of water and allow yourself a social media chill out for the time it takes to drink the glass.

  • Starving all day then binging on chips, cheese and chocolate at night? Come along to the seminar to hear how a few breakfast habits will prevent evening regrets.

Book in for the seminar with an email to gary@rechargedpt.com.au– only $11!

What should I expect from a personal trainer?

The better question is “What should I expect from a personal trainer?”. This will help you decide which personal trainer to choose. When you look for a studio and trainer you should be asking:

  • How will you set up my fitness goals? Hint: these should be established at the start with a scheduled check-in. Ideally you know what you want!

  • How do you keep your clients motivated? Hint: your trainer should be emailing or texting you before each session, pushing you with incremental gains each workout and celebrating with you when you meet your targets.

  • What is your cancellation policy? Hint: avoid lock-in contracts unless you have already maintained a consistent 6 weeks workout with them. Check if you can pause and hold your session time for injury or holiday. How often has your trainer cancelled on their clients? How much notice do you need to give to cancel your session without charge? Will you use this to avoid your workout?personal trainer watching a woman lift weights

Why use a personal trainer?

Personal trainers are the guarantee you need to make sure the time you spend working out isn’t wasted. A personal trainer will:

  • Check your technique to ensure you exercise with perfect form and avoid injury

  • Ensure your workouts are challenging and balanced. You want enough variety to be interesting, enough consistency to improve!

  • Keep you accountable. A personal trainer helps you keep your commitment to yourself. Don’t pay “gym tax” with contracts and sessions you don’t attend, receive the dividends of your hard work paying off with a personal trainer.
