If you ask:
-
a search engine they may be looking at popular sites which are big clubs or web savvy businesses or
-
great online reviews will tell you important details but are often dependant on large client numbers marketing campaigns or
-
recommendations from friends will tell you what suits them but may not work for you.
Location is important so up to a 30 minute drive is reasonable, plus you can expand to gyms enroute to your office or shopping centres or schools if you have kids. Type “personal trainer near me” or “gym near me” into your search engine and see what comes up. Check the website, reviews and social media if they have a presence. This is the first step.
Notice what is important to you.
The best gym near you will be as unique as you are. When we checked with our clients they stated the best gym had:
-
“A trainer who understood my goals and kept me accountable”
-
“Good parking”
-
“Great variety- I get bored easily”
-
“Kid-friendly so I can work out while they play”
-
“Showers so I can get to work without going home”
-
“Affordable so I can be consistent”
At Recharged Personal Training we meet all those needs (which is why they are our clients) but this may help you decide how to decide on the best gym for you.
Start at the beginning and grow.
Even a bad gym is better than not working out at all. If you aren’t sure where you want to go, try them all! Doing a casual session at three or four different gyms will save you way more money in the long run than a discount membership at a place you hate. You may decide to mix and match personal training with group fitness classes to sample a range of exercise techniques before you develop a taste for your own perfect blend.
If you are thinking about it you are ready to begin. Reach out to us and have a go, no obligations.
