Recharged Personal Training is a tight team of trainers who live fit and active lives in tandem with you. Choose a personal trainer who you get along with but who also trains in a way you respond to. Today we are talking with Bryce about his fitness journey.
How did you become a personal trainer? What other careers have you contemplated?
I always had an interest in fitness from a young age. I am heavily involved in playing football (also known as soccer). I was working as a mechanic and decided to study personal training. During my mechanic apprenticeship I did some part-time PT and once I’d finished the apprenticeship I decided to jump to full-time personal training! I started personal training back in 2013. I have always been passionate about fitness and enjoy helping people reach their goals.
What has been your biggest fitness/sporting moment?
For me, my biggest fitness moments are shared with clients when I witness them achieve their long-term goals or overcome an obstacle they may face. It is very rewarding to see all their hard work come to fruition.
What has been your most challenging physical experience?
Coming back to fitness after a knee ligament tear.
How do you motivate clients who are struggling to complete/ commit to a workout?
Finding out their ‘why’ and using this to build clear goals and encourage them on the way.
What have you learnt in your years of training other people?
I believe I have learnt how to communicate with different personalities and age brackets. I’ve also developed different strategies to deal with, and improve on, injuries while still progressing towards fitness goals.
Who is your fitness idol? Why?
Steven Gerrard. I’m a massive football and Liverpool fan. Gerrard played at the highest level and always scored important goals. He is now proving to be a successful coach, too.
What is one exercise/skill you wish you could do/have?
More flexibility.
